Red as a Beet
I had a presentation yesterday and I was soooo scared! SCARED I tell ya! While I was presenting my business to another business owner I started to heat up inside. It started in my chest and slowly moved up my neck and then my face (I turn red when I get nervous).
Crap! I know he could see it! Why do I do this? I hate it! I kept on presenting and I could hear it in my voice my nerves coming through. I wasn’t nervous about the presentation anymore. My nervousness was coming from the fact that this guy was watching me morf into a beet.
My doctor told me once that whenever I have to speak in front of people like this that I should take a Benadryl an hour before that time. The histamine blocker will stop the redness and it might help calm the nerves a little too. I guess I should have taken this advise for a change. I don’t do it all the time but this time I did it. UGH! He probably thinks I’m weird or something is wrong with me.
But other than that my presentation went well and I got more business drummed up for myself! Yay me!! Time for a glass of wine! (and maybe some icecream later)

LOL.. you poor thing. How stressful that must have been for you. It probably wasn’t as bad as it seemed. I think things are always worse in our minds than they are in actuality.
I’m sure you’re right. My hubby went with me and sat near by where he could see and hear what was going on and he said I did great! That means a lot to me because my hubby can be very critical.
Next time I will take a Benadryl.
Well there you have it.. you must have done great! After all, it is the man that said you were “angry” that gave you the thumbs up. If he said you did great, then I’m sure you did.
Speaking of which. I mentioned that “angry” comment again and he’s changed his whole story.
He says that he didn’t say I was “angry”. He says he said, “I LOOK like I’m angry sometimes”. *eye roll*
Well, Hearts…despite your nervousness, you did extremely well. Good for you! And the fact, you didn’t mess up your presentation because of how nervous you were feeling. You’re a pro, Girl!
The man knows how to back track and change his tone.
I feel your pain. That has happened to me on so many occasions!!!! I get very red when I’m nervous and it is hard but I think I’m my worst critic and you probably are too. I’m sure it wasn’t as bad as you thought. Congrats on the extra business though!
