Groovy Ladies Q & A
  • What one idea or philosophy is so important to you that you will always believe in it?
    • Groovy Lady: That there is a God and a heaven, and that life as we know it is not all there is.
    • CollectivelyCool: Your life is mapped out for you before you were born.
    • HeartsDesire: I believe that God only helps those who help themselves and no one person can make us happy, we are responsible for our own happiness.
    • Qweeni: That there is life after death. I believe this because my grandfather and father passed away within 6 weeks of each other. Since their passing, I have experienced several things that prove that they are around here somewhere, playing tricks on me!
    • TwoCents: I will have to echo Qweenie. I truly believe there is life after death.
  • Fill in the blanks to complete the following sentence… “If I were a __________ , I would _____________ .”
    • Groovy Lady: If I were a sheep, I would be really nervous around certain men in those out of the way towns in Idaho.”
    • CollectivelyCool: If I were a flower, I would open up to everyone unconditionally.”
    • HeartsDesire: If I were a bird, I would want to be one of those ones that swoop down and peck people in the head when they walk by.”
    • Qweeni: If I were a rich movie star, I would adopt kids from the US and not kids from Africa. There are plenty of kids here in the US who need good homes too!
    • TwoCents: If I were a guy, I would have a sex change.
  • What is your favorite thing to do when you have “free time”?
    • Groovy Lady: Read. I read a lot, about a book a day or every two days.
    • CollectivelyCool: Read
    • HeartsDesire: I have a few things I like to do. I like to spend time with husband (we work opposite shifts and time spent with him is important to me). We like to cook together while having drinks. During warmer weather I like to go biking. In winter I go skiing. I like to be on the internet. I like to read too but only at night before bed because it helps me to relax and go to sleep.
    • Qweeni: I love to read. I can read an entire book in a couple of hours and do when I get the chance.
    • TwoCents: Read computer books and True Crime stories - and knit… shhhh don’t tell.
  • What do you consider to be the most important role you have fulfilled thus far in your life?
    • Groovy Lady: Being a mom and raising my kids to have the morals & beliefs that I think are important in order for them to grow up to be a good, kind people.
    • CollectivelyCool: Being a mother to an intelligent, thoughtful, funny and good natured lil girl and wife to an adoring, hard-working hubby.
    • HeartsDesire: Being a mother. It’s the toughest job in the world IMO. Other than that I think being a role model is very important too.
    • Qweeni: Motherhood. It has definitely taught me that nobody is perfect, and no matter how hard you try, your kid will never be exactly what you expect him/her to be - and that’s what makes them their own person. You just have to hope that the things you try to teach them fall into place as they grow up.
    • TwoCents: No question, being a mom.
  • What’s your worst habit?
    • Groovy Lady: I have lots of worst habits, lol. My worst of the worst would be that I have a tendancy to expect too much from people or expect them to do things how I would do them.
    • CollectivelyCool: Waiting until the house is so messy before I clean it up. By then I can’t stand it anymore.
    • HeartsDesire: It use to be smoking (quit 12/1/05). Now I have this HORRIBLE gum chewing habit and it ain’t pretty. If you stick your ear up to your computer you can hear me chew. LOL!
    • Qweeni: Smoking, definitely. I’d quit, but then I’d be completely perfect and, as I said in my last answer, nobody is perfect… so I have to continue to smoke!
    • Twocents: Opening my mouth. As a rule, something comes out of it that shouldn’t be said. I like to refer to it as brutally honest.
  • Would you ever jump out of an airplane (with a parachute of course)?
    • Groovy Lady: Sure I would! But I would have to be pushed.. HARD. Then I would probably have a heart attack on the way down.
    • CollectivelyCool: Most definitely. Although I’d probably crap my pants in the process.
    • HeartsDesire: Absolutely NOT!! I have no desire to pay that kind of money just to close my eyes and pray for my parachute to open. I can do that on the ground for free.
    • Qweeni: Probably not. I’ve never had a death wish, and I don’t trust those little thingies (pull cords??). With my luck it would malfunction.
    • TwoCents: No No and Hell No.
  • Knowing all that you know now, if you could live your life over again… what would you want to be when you grew up?
    • Groovy Lady: A stay/work at home mom, exactly what I am now. I love my life.
    • CollectivelyCool: A fashion designer.
    • HeartsDesire: I always wanted to be a Mom 1st, and I’ve always had the dream of being able to work my own business and be home with my children.
    • Qweeni: A college graduate that speaks some Spanish!
    • TwoCents: I wouldn’t want to live my life over again. I’ll stick with just being me, thank you.
  • What’s your favorite quote that “speaks” to you on a personal level?
    • Groovy Lady: I have two, both by Dr. Seuss…”You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own, and you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where you’ll go.” (from Oh! The Places You’ll Go!) and “I like nonsense; it wakes up the brain cells.”
    • CollectivelyCool: When you come to the edge of all the light you know, and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing one of two things will happen: there will be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.
    • HeartsDesire: “Shoot for the moon…Even if you miss it…You will land among the stars” -Les Brown
    • Qweeni: I have 2: From Ben Franklin: “A long life might not be good enough… but a good life is long enough.”and From Kay Lyons: “Yesterday is a canceled check; tomorrow is a promissory note; today is the only cash you have-so spend it wisely.”
    • TwoCents: “I don’t wanna be anything other than what I’ve been trying to be lately.”
  • What is your biggest petpeeve.. that one thing that just never fails to irritate the hell out of you?
    • Groovy Lady: When people take up the whole aisle with their shopping cart and have no consideration for the other shoppers on that aisle. At times I have resorted to shopping cart rage and rammed them mine.
    • CollectivelyCool: People who spell Ridiculous, REDiculous. LOL
    • HeartsDesire: The toilet. It HAS to be clean!! I can’t stand it when the boys drip all over the rim and if you pee without putting the seat up and you drip on it… Your gonna get it!! If I had my way all boys would sit down to pee. LOL!!
    • Qweeni: People who think they are sooooooo smart but can’t spell or differentiate between to, too and two to save their life!
    • TwoCents: People who say Irregardless. Look it up.
  • What is one little insignificant, quirky something that you would never willingly do?
    • Groovy Lady: Eat in the bathroom. The thought of bathroom cooties getting on my food gives me the heebiejeebies and makes me shiver all the way down to my toes.
    • CollectivelyCool: Have anal sex.
    • HeartsDesire: I can’t stand the idea of using someone else’s toothbrush. Yucky! Yucky! Yucky! It makes me gag just thinking about it!
    • Qweeni: Use someone else’s toothbrush. Just the thought makes me go eewwwwwww!
    • TwoCents: Touch foam.
